History
The Denneweg ('Fir Tree Road') is one of the oldest streets in The Hague. Here one can still experience the real The Hague: trendy, but with a rich history and a strong connection to the past, as exemplified by the various buildings from the 18th century. The street used to be called the Duineweg ('Dune Road'), because it originally meandered through the dunes to the beach. Nowadays it is a modern, contemporary street with a rich history. It offers a varied range of shops in a clean, safe environment that seethes with activities and events.

Street of antique shops
The Denneweg is a classic, busy shopping street with a number of impressive store fronts which still breathe the atmosphere of the real old-fashioned The Hague. It used to be the place for antique shops, and over the years became synonymous with antiques and the hospitality industry. Nowadays the street also caters to fashionistas, but there is still an exceptional collection of antiques to be found. The shop-windows show many exceptional pieces of furniture, paintings and decorative objects, and on some days the The Hague Antiques and Book Fair is held at the end of the street, on the Lange Voorhout. Over the years this antique market has become a valued institution in The Hague.

Hooigracht

The Denneweg is situated in one of the oldest and most beautiful parts of the city centre and offers a plethora of specialty shops, especially those connected with lifestyle, design, art and antiques. This area boasts a large quantity of quality stores and also a number of beauty and hair dressing salons. For instance, Black offers stylish clothing for women, and at White men can find everything they are looking for. Looking for a hat made by hand? Visit Eudia's studio.
