De Dutch Don't Dance Division & Matangi Quartet - Last 7 Words

'The Last 7 Words' is a world premiere choreographed by Thom Stuart for the 10 talented members of the Dutch Junior Dance Division, who will dance to Joseph Haydn’s ‘The Last Seven Words of Our Saviour on the Cross’, performed live by the Matangi Quartet. The 7 sonatas tell the story of the final 7 sentences spoken by Jesus on the cross. His hope, despair, pain, resignation, forgiveness and death remain universal themes in all our lives.

Feest aan Zee
It was exactly 200 years ago that Jacobus Pronk built the first bathhouse at Scheveningen, a small wooden construction containing four seawater bathtubs. This made Scheveningen the first seaside resort in the Netherlands. The entire city will be celebrating with festivals, exhibitions and shows, and that’s just for starters. The Volvo Ocean Race is coming to The Hague, and 11 huge sand sculptures will be created on Lange Voorhout during the World Championship Sand Sculpting.
