Steam in Scheveningen
Stoom in Scheveningen is a new free event that is taking place on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 June in the 2nd Inner Harbour (dr. Lelykade) of Scheveningen.
During the event you can see, hear and smell working steam engines and enjoy short rides. Two steamers will also be anchored in the harbour, including the last steam-driven deep-sea tug Furie, made famous by the television series “Hollands Glorie”. Younger visitors can enjoy a ride on old miniature steam trains and tractors or jump around on the bouncy cushions. A party tent with new Hague music performances is set to make the event complete.
Steam in Scheveningen is open to visitors free of charge for two days from 10.00 - 18.00 in the 2nd Inner Harbour (Dr. Lelykade). All the steam engines and machinery will be parked here and the two tugs will be anchored alongside. Younger visitors are entitled to a ride on the miniature steam train that belongs to Stoomgroep West from Zuiderpark or can enjoy jumping on the bouncy cushions. Is the steam coming out of your ears or would you like to let off some steam for a while? Then you're welcome in the party tent where a variety of Hague bands will be performing. Have a drink or a snack at the same time as you enjoy this unique and nostalgic atmosphere to the full.
