The Hague Freedom Book Fair
This year’s Freedom Book Fair is a 3-day event, running from the 2nd until the 4th of May at the Migratie Museum in Den Haag. It is so much more than just a book fair. It brings together writers, thinkers, journalists, artists, activists and citizens from and around repressive environments to freely partake in their own interpretations of free expression.
Freedom Book Fair has much to offer, from book presentations to cultural evenings, movie screenings to panel discussions. The space civil society has to speak out, as well as the chance to be heard, is continuously under pressure both in the Netherlands and abroad. The book fair provides an opportunity and a creative environment for this ongoing conversation, which will feature voices that regularly contribute to the freedoms we strive to enjoy in society.
The array of guests this year includes top journalists, singers, writers, lawyers, film directors, musicians, actresses and individuals from Morocco, the Netherlands, Bangladesh, Nicaragua, Honduras, Afghanistan, Syria, Egypt, Sudan and elsewhere. Publishing houses and book sellers will also be present.
