Clara Schumann-Wieck was born exactly 200 years ago. She enjoyed international fame in her time and booked immense success at home and abroad. Her work as a composer came in addition to household and book-keeping duties and to looking after her husband and family.<br />
With this programme Dutch soprano Helmi Verhoeven and Italian pianist Beatrice Sterna want to pay homage to this impressive woman. They will share with you a large number of the surviving songs by Clara Schumann-Wieck, as well as songs by her husband Robert Schumann and family friend Johannes Brahms.
