Tour of the Great Church tower

It is possible to climb to the tower of the Great Church, also known as the 'Haagse Toren'. Together with a guide, visitors can climb the 288 steps to the top. The tower offers a spectacular 360° view over the city centre, Scheveningen and Kijkduin. Around 1420, the hexagonal tower was constructed and at the end of the 15th century the stylish church had reached its current size. There is a tour every Saturday and Sunday at 13.00 and 15.00 hours. There is a maximum of 15 participants per tour. Entrance to the tower costs €7,00 for adults and €5,00 for children. The tour takes 1,5 hours. Tickets can be bought only via gadenhaag.nl.

Practical information
The climb is only suitable for people with mobility issues. Due to the 288 steps, the church tower is not accessible for wheelchairs and prams. The tour lasts 1 hour in total. A maximum of 15 participants can come along per tour. Guests are requested to arrive 15 minutes in advance on the day of the tour.

Reservations
A ticket to climb the church tower costs €7,00 for adults and €5,00 for children (3 to12 years old). Tickets can be reserved online via dehaagsetoren.nl. You can pay for tickets in cash or by pin at the counter in the Grote Kerk, Rond de Grote Kerk, The Hague. For group bookings you always need to book in advance and the costs will be billed to you.

Accessibility
The Grote Kerk is located in the center of The Hague and is easily accessible by car, public transport and bicycle. Various parking garages are within walking distance of the church, such as the Torengarage and City Parking. Public transport is even easier and faster. Kerkplein is easily accessible from The Hague Central Station with trams 2, 3, 4 and 6 (Grote Markt stop). From The Hague Holland Spoor Station it is best to take tram 16 towards Statenkwartier (stop Gravenstraat).
