As we grow older, we all want to stay healthy, independent and active for as long as possible. Technological innovations can help elderly people to stay healthy and self-reliant, whilst staying in touch with their environment (family, friends, neighbours, carers and medical staff). Examples include new forms of personal alarm systems, tablets for seniors and social and household robots.
The programme iZi Gezond Lang Thuis (Living a long and healthy life at home), part of the Health Innovation Programme of the City of The Hague, aims to inform inhabitants on the potential of available and suitable technologies and to experiment with these technologies. The exhibition ‘The Power of Innovation’ reveals the valuable role technology can play. The photographs display major and minor moments of happiness in healthcare. An unexpected smile, a precious moment of contact, a sense of pride and self-esteem.
The exhibition and subsequent campaign ‘The Power of innovation’ is initiated by Active Cues in co-operation with healthcare, education and tech partners and reflect the mission of the Health Innovation Programme of the Municipality of the Hague.
