HipFest is a free pop music festival in Scheveningen village. Several venues in the Keizerstraat will be bursting at the seams when 25 mainly local bands take to the stage. Live concerts will take place throughout the afternoon and evening at Muziekcafé De Maatschappij, Op Scheveningen, De Snoeshaen, Poppodium Saturnus, Meneer Chocola and Jorplace Hostel.
Keizerstraat is Scheveningen's oldest and most historical shopping street. The former fishermen's dwellings in and around this cosy street create plenty of charm. You will find many small shops and eateries here, but also larger chains such as Albert Heijn, HEMA and Blokker. In short: an authentic shopping street in Scheveningen-Dorp, where you can enjoy a stroll toward the boulevard and also shop for your daily groceries.
Keizerstraat starts at the end of Scheveningseweg and ends just before the boulevard. Street parking in Scheveningen is paid almost everywhere; the closest parking garages are a 10 - 15 minute walk away. The most convenient way to reach Keizerstraat is with the tram.
Feest aan Zee
It was exactly 200 years ago that Jacobus Pronk built the first bathhouse at Scheveningen, a small wooden construction containing four seawater bathtubs. This made Scheveningen the first seaside resort in the Netherlands. The entire city will be celebrating with festivals, exhibitions and shows, and that’s just for starters. The Volvo Ocean Race is coming to The Hague, and 11 huge sand sculptures will be created on Lange Voorhout during the World Championship Sand Sculpting. See the festivity-packed programme at
