In the early 19th century, composer Franz Schubert established the Viennese movement Die Unsinnsgesellschaft (The Nonsense Society). These rebels expressed sharp criticism concerning contemporary society through their art.
Choreographer Jasper van Luijk used this source of inspiration to take a closer look at our own chaotic and unpredictable times. Schubert’s compositions are taken apart and put back together again with engaging new works by cellist Antonis Pratsinakis. This brings The Nonsense Society in dialogue with today’s body. A dynamic and physical performance where the melancholy of the music blows straight through your body.
