Hof van Wouw is an oasis of tranquility in the center of The Hague on the west side of the Lange Beestenmarkt. This almshouse was founded in 1647 by Cornelia van Wouw with the aim of housing single women. The hof has a number of cottages suitable for single-person households. The residents are still chosen today on the basis of the rules from the will of Cornelia van Wouw. With the beautiful Garden of the Hesperides and the Garden Room, the Hof van Wouw is one of the most beautiful and authentic courtyards in The Hague. The Hof van Wouw opens its gates a few times a year for a pleasant public event with a guided tour.

Visit to the Hof van Wouw
The Hof van Wouw consists of 17 houses, including the regent's house and the administrator's house. The houses have largely remained 17th century. De Hof is not freely accessible, but several times a year visitors can take a look at this cultural-historical heritage. During such an event you can enjoy coffee or tea and various theme-oriented snacks on the covered terrace. Court (made) products are also sold, such as homemade jam and honey. The proceeds of this will go entirely to the maintenance of the Garden of the Hesperides. Guided tours are possible during public events or on request. These are provided by volunteers and offer more insight into the historical background of this authentic courtyard. You can also take a look at the Regentenhuis from 1647. It is also nice to combine a visit to the Hof with the Museum of Kleef or a boat trip with the Ooienvaart.

Garden room
The Garden Room is part of the 365-year-old De Hof van Wouw Foundation. Apart from the monumental complex, there is a beautiful garden: the Garden of the Hesperides. Next to the Garden of the Hesperides is a monumental building that is privately owned by the family that is closely involved in the administration of the Hof Van Wouw and is responsible for the maintenance and management of the Garden of the Hesperides. The Garden Room is located on the ground floor and is used as a reception area. During the lively events you can enjoy the peace and quiet in the middle of the bustling center of The Hague. This location can also be used for a meeting, company training, wedding, high tea, reception, dinner, buffer and drinks. Since August 2012, the Garden Room with the adjacent Garden of the Hesperides has been an official wedding location in The Hague.
