Tapas, petiscos, [Tap-isco] cocktails, Spanish and Portuguese wines, these are the ingredients restaurant Tapisco. In the illustrious building, which housed the De Vijf Vocalen bookstore for about 300 years and, in recent years, the Mees Pierson Bank, Restaurant Tapisco opened its doors after an intensive renovation. Tapisco has already received a BIB Gourmande.

During lunch, authentic dishes from Spanish and Portuguese cuisine are served in a modern version. The lunch slowly turns into a drink where you can order a delicious platter of freshly sliced Spanish Hams.

cocktails

Cocktails play a major role in the concept of Restaurant Tapisco. The eye-catcher in the store is therefore the beautifully equipped bar in the center of the room, with 6 large Spanish hams that are ripening. The bartenders don't turn their hand for a classic cocktail or a contemporary variant. In addition to the Spanish hams, which are available all day anyway, in the evening you can choose from a range of tapas and petiscos, such as empenadas, gilda (famous pinxto from San Sebastian), macaron of squid and tuna, chicken tenderloin and gamba piri piri, etc.

Tapisco inside

The well-known De Vijf Vocalen bookstore has been housed in the characteristic building on the Kneuterdijk for over 300 years. Antique, brocante elements on the lamps fill the modern space, which are interspersed with authentic (hand) painted Portuguese floor tiles and the bronze mosaic of the bar. The crystal clear white kitchen made of Corian combines beautifully with the hand-painted Spanish tiles around the large mirrors that give the whole a lot of space. From the Chef's table on the raised bench you can see chefs preparing the tapas while the service is being served. An immensely large wine climate cabinet is on the other side of the kitchen. All top Spanish and Portuguese wines are stored here. At the back of the store is an elevation with an old-fashioned clinker floor with an old bookcase wall on the wall, for example, an ode has been given to bookshop De Vijf Vocalen. The 3 large windows on the opposite side provide a lot of natural light in the store and in the evening the atmosphere radiates the other way out. Sofas with refined brown leather alternate with wicker chairs and black lacquered bistro tables with a copper edge. Behind a wrought iron gate is a cozy terrace at the front where the sun shines all day long.

Restaurant Tapisco is open 7 days a week from 11:00 am.
