De Reigershof is located on the border between The Hague and Voorburg, in the green district of Haagse Hout. The farm was built in 1976 and is named after the surrounding Reigersbergen green area. In addition to the cosy city farm, the environmental education centre and the school garden are also located on the same grounds. A nature playground was also established in 2014. The farm's inhabitants are cows, goats, sheep, rabbits, chickens, guinea pigs, ducks and a cat. These animals are always very happy when visitors come and give them attention and feed them with fruit and vegetables (no bread). Food for the animals is sold on the farm. Depending on the season, honey, eggs and fresh goat's milk are also sold. The site is wheelchair accessible.

Help
Small wheelbarrows and other tools are available for the children to help out to their heart's content. Daily tasks include feeding the animals (daily at around 3:30 pm), brushing the animals and cleaning the pens. Before any help can be given, the farm managers must first be informed.

Activities
There are many daily and special activities to attend at Reiger's farm. For example, every year before summer the sheep are stripped of their warm fur at the sheep shearing festival. Daily activities include attention and feeding the animals. The rabbit hutch is open for children to play and play with the rabbits. The guinea pigs are also allowed to sit in a basket on the children's laps at set times during the day.

Education
In the classroom of the Environmental Education Centre (MEC), children from groups 1 to 7 of the primary school are taught about animals, nature and the environment. For group 7, the school garden is used for horticultural lessons, among other things. The centre also lends boxes of teaching materials to schools in the districts of Haagse Hout, Scheveningen, Leidschenveen and Ypenburg.

Accessibility
Tram line 6 stops seven minutes' walk from the Reigershof and also passes the centre, The Hague Central Station and Mariahoeve Station. There is no parking at the farm itself. Ten minutes' walk away is the Mariahoeve shopping centre, where parking is available. Parking is also available at Mariahoeve railway station. From there you can reach the Reigershof in about 15 minutes on foot.
