Theaterhuis Amalia is a foundation founded by Sheila Lever in December 2002. Combining intimate, small-scale theatre performances, this theatre house has set up a theatre devise that differs greatly from regular theatres from the last 14 years. The performances usually take place in special, often historical locations, but also regularly in Sheila and her husband’s home.
A visit represents a total experience, an evening out. The visitors are part of the furniture and are usually placed in the middle or slightly above. This own identity; quality, efficient, widely accessible and professional appearance is clearly recognisable in the working method and in theatre productions. From 2010 Theaterhuis Amalia also offers a stage to new, young and talented performing artists (theatre, cabaret, cabaret and music theatre) and guest performances are regularly organised.
