DNR Filmclub | Tribute to Fritz Lang: Fury

In correspondence with the Sounds of Silence festival, during March our regular film program will present talking films by the former silent film master director Fritz Lang.

Fury (1936)
Fritz Lang's first American film is a vigorous and perceptive indictment of mob dynamics, starring Spencer Tracy and Sylvia Sidney. After a wrongly accused prisoner barely survives a lynch mob attack, he decides to take revenge against the mob that tried to murder him. Lang made 'Fury' shortly after fleeing Nazi Germany for Hollywood, and he brought his feelings about his country’s encroaching fascism along with him. It’s a dark and angry film, both visually and morally.

Films of Fritz Lang this month in DNR Filmclub:
Di 03 | Fury (1936)
Di 13 | The Woman in the Window (1944)
Di 20 | Scarlet Street (1945)
Di 27 | The Big Heat (1953)
