My favorite place in the Hague. First of all, it's two museums in one, being a former royal palace, and also dedicated to Escher. From the first room, you see the quirkiness, the chandeliers in each room are different, the best being in the entrance room where you pay for tickets. Amazing place. Chock full of fun games and interesting exhibits. Take the side stairs, they are worn wood which is beautiful.

Extraordinary art! For all the lovers of geometric art and maths in art. I was drawn away by the artwork of Mr. Escher, because he heavily plays with the forms of his objects and strives for a feeling of infinity. Many of his art pieces were so famous that i recognized them without knowing the painter, because his art is actually more famous than his name. Even bought a wallpaper at the museum store and its totally worth it!

Lovely display of Escher's work with a very informative biography movie included as well. Displays graphics from all the stages in the development of Escher's style. Setting in one of royal palaces is very attractive too and the building itself is well worth a look. What drew my attention the most were the fancy/boho chandeliers. It is compulsory to leave your rucksack/bag and coat in a self - services cloakroom in the basement. The basement also contains a pleasant cafe. I head an apple tartlet with coffee and it was absolutely delicious. Really recommend a sweet 'bite' after seeing the exhibition.

I loved this museum. Escher's works and palace complement each other in the very best way. Walking through the three floors of the floors of the palace you will not only see Escher's graphic works, but will find out more about how he became the genius of printed graphics he was.

One of my favourite artists, so a bit biased. But has plenty of information on him & his work. Also in English. Large exhibit for the size of the building. Also interactive on the top floor.
