STET The English Theatre - A Christmas Carol
British Master storyteller Ashley Ramsden returns for the 16th year for what has now become a tradition of English theatre company STET. With A Christmas Carol, Ramsden confronts his audiences with a timeless tale about greed, jealousy, redemption, hope and generosity.
This play is in English and there are no surtitles.
The Story Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol (1843) is the famous redemption tale of the wicked Ebenezer Scrooge. On Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited by four spirits: the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present, Christmas Yet to Come and… his former business partner Jacob Marley. Each with a different message about how his penny-pinching and indifferent attitude has affected himself and the world around him. Will Scrooge change his mean, miserly ways before it’s too late?
Can we still learn from this wise tale? Is it possible in this world – that seems to be more divided than ever – to share, live together and listen to one another?
“I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!” - C. Dickens
