Big sports events in The Hague this summer

Where can I watch the European Championship football? 

During your stay in The Hague, you don't have to miss anything from the European Football Championship (e/o the Olympics). You can just watch in these cosy pubs: 

O'casey's Irish Pub & Restaurant - Noordeinde 140
This award-winning Irish pub on Noordeinde has been a household name in The Hague for years. For cosy evenings in the pub, live music or pub quaffing. At Hoender and Hop on the lively Grote Markt, you can watch all matches of the European Championships and the Olympic Games live. With or without the delicious daily special! 

Strandpaviljoen Zuid - Zuiderstrand 3, Strandslag 11
Looking forward to watching the games on the beach? At Zuid, you can on 16 June (Father's Day) during ‘Burgers & Beer’ between 14:00 - 17:00. Special combo deal burger and a beer for €16.50. Bring your father, bonus dad, or father-in-law. A special gift for Father's Day! 

Rootz - Grote Markstraat 14
At cosy Rootz, you can watch all the matches of the European Championship on big screens. The waiters will serve you in style. 

Haags Hoog - Televisiestraat 2
Want to watch football at high altitude? Then check out Haags Hoog. They broadcast the Netherlands' matches, while enjoying snacks and drinks. 

Café 't Achterom - Achterom 22A
Café 't Achterom is a cosy gay bar in a hidden street in the city centre where there is always a party. Also during the European Championships, which you can watch live here.

Gastropub van Kinsbergen - Prins Hendrikplein 15
Watch the European Football Championship at Gastropub Van Kinsbergen on a big screen with Dj Kage before and after the match.

L'amour toujours - Prins Hendrikplein 10
In this lovely restaurant, you can also watch the dutch team on a big screen. There are even VIP spots!

 

Finish first stage Tour de France Femmes Kijkduin

The Hague is proud to be the finish city of the first stage of the Tour de France Femmes. Monday 12 August, during the first stage, the cyclists, divided into 22 teams, will ride from Rotterdam via Westland straight through The Hague to the finish on Kijkduin. Here a warm welcome awaits them and the first yellow jersey will be awarded. Come watch along the route or cheer on the ladies at the finish on Kijkduin.

At the finish on Kijkduin, watching, experiencing and cheering are central. The finish location will be the place to be for cycling-loving The Hague. There will be food stands provided by local entrepreneurs, street theatre and a number of cycling activities. You will be right at the finish line where the cyclists are expected to cross the finish line around 16:00.

European Beach Volleyball Championship 2024 Scheveningen

Barely recovered from the Olympics and finish of the Tour de France Femmes, you seamlessly transition into the European Beach Volleyball Championship. Relax on the beach in the sun and watch the skills of Europe's best beach volleyball players.

The (semi-)finals will be played on the beach in Scheveningen from 13 to 18 August. Since the first European Championship in the Netherlands (2006), The Hague has been playing city every edition. In 2012 and 2018, The Hague captured Dutch European Championship gold twice. The Scheveningen sand brings goodluck!

Cycling festival Zuiderpark
On Monday 12 August, the Zuiderpark will be transformed into a large and cosy cycling festival. This is the day 154 professional cyclists will cycle straight through the Zuiderpark to the finish line on Kijkduin. Reason enough for a fun-filled cycling festival. There is something for everyone, for young and old, from culture to sports lovers, everyone is welcome!

Sports Walk, Workout & Win
This free walk will take you on a sporty journey through The Hague, past the sports of yesteryear with an athlete of today. At each point on the walk, a fun workout has been devised for you. The Hague top athlete and world champion freerunner Tangui van Schingen will show you which exercise you can do.
