Carl Orff's - Carmina Burana

Carmina Burana is based on a collection of lyrical poems and was composed by Carl Orff between 1935 and 1936. This masterful work was first presented in 1937 at the Frankfurt Opera and has captivated audiences and left no one unmoved ever since. The best-known part "O Fortuna", which is repeated at the end of the piece, is world-famous today.

These profane and Latin songs, performed with passion and vigour by choirs and soloists, tell us a story about life and death, fate and, above all, love. Some 200 performers sing about the joys of the return of spring and the pleasures of alcohol, playing with the wheel of fate, dancing love and lust. This new production seizes on the sensuality and emotion of this musical phenomenon to show that music, movement and speech are inseparable.

This original and fiery piece, a great success of the 20th century played all over the world, will go on a major European tour from November 2025.
