Programme
- Schumann Pianoconcert
- Beethoven Symfonie nr. 5
Join Residentie Orkest to discover the magic of Sunday morning: a time to escape from it all, relax and let the symphonies caress your mind. Today, we are in for a grand, compelling morning with Beethoven’s most famous work, Symphony No. 5. Dire fate knocks at the door in the famous opening notes, and from there the piece transports you, challenges you, and conquers you in a powerful interplay.
The morning opens with another powerful, contrast-rich piece, namely Robert Schumann’s Piano Concerto. Performing this piece on the grand piano is the outstanding soloist Javier Perianes. Schumann’s melodic grandeur blends a scintillating piano performance with luxurious orchestral tones, in a true celebration of intense romantic passion – a perfect supplement to Beethoven’s colossal symphony. Both pieces will be performed under the leadership of chief conductor Anja Bihlmaier.
