Violinist Shunske Sato and pianist Shuann Chai bring works by Mozart, Schubert and Beethoven to life in a sophisticated programme full of emotion and historical depth
Violinist Shunske Sato is known for his masterful interpretations and his ability to bring composer's intentions to life in new, inspiring ways. He is equally at home on the baroque violin and the modern violin, combining his role as soloist, ensemble leader and conductor with a deep knowledge of historical performance practices. In particular, his innovative research into 19th-century playing techniques offers a fresh approach to classical works.
Pianist Shuann Chai brings music from the past to the present in a personal and expressive way. She plays on a wide range of historical and modern pianos and has been praised for her ‘sensitive and communicative’ performances that exude ‘warmth and emotion’. Shuann is a sought-after soloist and chamber musician with performances around the world, and she leads the Fortepiano Festival in Zaandijk.
