Magic in Music
Together, these iconic soundtracks by director Hayao Miyazaki and composer Joe Hisaishi form a magical duo, loved the world over. Get carried away by dreamy melodies and cinematic sounds during an evening of wonder, for young and old alike. A unique opportunity to experience this timeless music in the heart of The Hague.
Joe Hisaishi is a musical mastermind with an impressive career. He has written music for films, anime, computer games, television and even commercials. In 1998, he composed the music for the Paralympic Games in Nagano. Yet the general public knows him mainly for his mesmerising film music, such as that for Takeshi Kitano's cult films and, of course, Hayao Miyazaki's world-famous animated films. Together, Hisaishi and Miyazaki are a creative dream duo a perfect match of image and sound. What makes their films so magical? Maybe it's the music. Or just the visuals. Who knows?
