Design Museum Dedel presents a selection of anti-war posters from its own collection. In this room you will hear the voices of peace advocates from different countries and different periods of the last century

From the very beginning of the 20th century, the poster, as a journalistic and political genre of visual art, became one of the most effective campaign tools of the peace activists, because it could quickly respond to political events and convey ideas to millions of people in a concise , Understandable language.

The exhibition provides an opportunity to consider how the pacifist movement developed and what problems worried humanity in this or that period. The fact that if you look at the anti-war posters of the past in the year 2024, you know what terrible trials and disasters awaited the world a few years later, gives this exhibition a special dramatic sound. However, one gets the impression that some artists had the gift of foresight and, unlike many politicians, sensed the threat. This is evident from the two oldest posters of the exhibition, dated 1912.
