Dutch Veterans Day 2025: A special edition in The Hague

On Saturday 28 June 2025, Dutch Veterans Day will once again take place in The Hague. This year it will be a special edition, as the NATO summit on 24 and 25 June will also be organised in the city. Because of this special confluence, the traditional parade will unfortunately not take place, but this will still be offset by an extensive programme.

A day full of encounters and recognition
The core of Veterans' Day will be maintained: it is all about meeting, recognition and respect for Dutch veterans. This year, the programme gets a revamped format, but remains an impressive and valuable experience for visitors and participants.

New schedule, same special atmosphere
In 2025, you won't have to get up early! The festivities start later than usual, around 11:00 am, and last until around 8:00 pm. Please note that all times are still subject to change.

History

Dutch Veterans Day is an annual tribute in The Hague to all Dutch veterans. During the event various ceremonies take place a parade and a fly-past over the parade point.

National event

The Netherlands has more than 110,000 veterans – young and old, male and female – who have served in the service of peace. As a tribute to the veterans, the National Veterans Day Committee organizes the Dutch Veterans Day in The Hague every last Saturday in June.

Festive day

The Dutch Veterans Day is also a festive day. Not just for veterans, but for everyone. So come and watch the impressive and colorful national parade of thousands of veterans. Veterans, soldiers, dozens of music bands and historical and modern military equipment will present themselves to the whole of The Hague and the Netherlands.
