Experience an evening focusing on the Afro-Latin American culture of Cuba and Colombia. With dance, music, stories and food at the Korzo theater.

Roots of Rhythm

This evening shines a spotlight on Afro-influence in Latin America, focusing on two countries where this legacy still has a powerful presence: Cuba and Colombia. Countries that carry stories of resistance, where rhythm survived as a language of hope, music as an act of strength, and dance as a living memory.

Angela Alfaro, founder of Latin Soul, has curated an evening that honors the deep roots and vibrant rhythms of Afro-Latin American culture. With dance, music, storytelling and food, she invites you to come together in a shared space of celebration, memory and movement.

Program

  • Workshops in which everyone-regardless of background or level-is invited to feel, move and learn
  • A penetrating documentary exposing historical and cultural lines
  • Live performances inspired by traditional and contemporary Afro-Latin styles
  • A culinary experience to taste the flavors of this history

Every part of this evening invites you to feel the story, not just hear it.

Stay tuned

In the coming weeks, Korzo theater will announce the full program-with, among other things, the amazing artists, workshop leaders and musicians who will help shape this special evening.

About Korzo X

Once or twice a year Korzo X gives the stage to a new voice. A guest curator takes the helm and brings his or her own world, own questions and own rhythm to the theater. Each edition is unique-borne by the curator's knowledge, background and creative vision.

This edition of Korzo X is more than just an evening in the theater.
It is a celebration. A remembrance. A homecoming.
