Sunday morning concert: Mozart & Grieg
Ease into your Sunday morning, with a mind invigorated by sparkling music. Today, we have the wild (and sometimes silly) adventures of Grieg’s Peer Gynt and Mozart’s heavenly clarinet sounds.
Programme
- Grieg De laatste lente
- Mozart Klarinetconcert
- Grieg Suites nrs. 1 en 2 uit ‘Peer Gynt
Join Residentie Orkest to discover the magic of Sunday morning: a time to escape from it all, relax and let the symphonies caress your mind. This morning, you will hear the unique, deep tones of Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto before setting out on a journey with the rogue Peer Gynt, composed by the master of mood and atmosphere: Edvard Grieg.
Norwegian folklore, full of tragedy and humour, laid out in a wide musical landscape. Grieg translated Peer Gynt’s wild fantasy world into sound: sunrises, raging trolls, hypnotising dancers. Mounting the rostrum is the up-and-coming British conductor and emerging artist-in-residence Chloe Rooke, whose boundless energy and infectious joy is the perfect counterpart to Peer Gynt’s Norwegian mischief. Also on offer this morning are the lilting, heavenly airs of soloist Arno Stoffelsma, who is performing one of Mozart’s last musical pieces: the beautiful Clarinet Concerto.
Musical workshop for children
Tip! A special musical workshop for children aged 4 to 12 will be held during the concert, for a fee of € 4.00 per child. Please note that reservations in advance are required! The workshop is given in Dutch. You can order the workshop in the ordering process for the concert tickets.
