The tram tunnel in The Hague, also known as the Souterrain, consists of a tram and light rail tunnel of 1,250 meters, two stations (Spui and Grote Markt) and a parking garage of almost one kilometer long with space for about 300 cars. The tunnel starts on Prinsengracht and runs under Grote Marktstraat and Kalvermarkt towards Central Station. The tram runs on the lowest level and above that are the parking layers. The Hague tram tunnel was designed in its entirety under the direction of architect Rem Koolhaas.
