The Top Sailing Centre The Hague is a National Top Sports Centre Sailing (NTC Sailing) officially accredited by NOC*NSF and thus meets all the requirements to offer top athletes an ideal training location where training, studying and living can be well combined. The centre came about thanks to a collaboration between the Watersportverbond (Water Sports Association), the Municipality of The Hague and Jachtclub Scheveningen.
Accommodation
The International Top Sailing Centre The Hague is located in the Nautical Centre, a newly developed part of the Scheveningen Harbour. The Nautical Centre is home to the Jachtclub Scheveningen, Watersport Scheveningen, Performance Sails, Roompot Holiday Apartments and a restaurant, among others. The area where the Nautical Centre is located is on the West side of the Second Harbour where the slipway used to be located. In the coming years, the entire former Norfolk area behind it will be redeveloped, within which water sports will have an important place.
The Hague Topsport
Den Haag Topsport supports and guides several top athletes, 11 Hague Top Sports Associations, two National Top Sports Centres (NTCs) and seven Regional Training Centres (RTCs). To strengthen these associations and training centres, The Hague Topsport provides advice on talent development, facilities and supports trainers and coaches. To promote the competences and exchange of knowledge and experience of trainers/coaches, Den Haag Topsport has established the Coaching Platform.
Accessibility
The International Top Sailing Centre The Hague is located in the Nautical Centre, a newly developed part of Scheveningen Harbour. Scheveningen Haven is easily accessible by public transport, car and bicycle. The quickest way to reach the port by car is via Koningskade, Prof. B.M. Teldersweg, President Kennedylaan, Houtrustweg and Westduinweg. Parking is best in the car parks by the harbour. If you come by public transport, you can choose between various tram and bus lines towards Scheveningen from The Hague Central Station and Hollands Spoor.
