Pathé Buitenhof

Pathé Buitenhof is located in a beautiful old building at a historical site in the centre of The Hague. In addition to the latest quality films, Pathé Buitenhof hosts a range of unique events, such as live ballet broadcasts from Moscow, live opera broadcasts from New York, premières and much more. The majority of foreign films at Pathé are screened in their original versions with Dutch subtitling.

Boutique Auditoriums
Pathé Buitenhof now features two fully renovated boutique auditoriums. Designed by architect Kees Doornenbal, the halls blend luxury with heritage. Expect plush seating, solo or for two, with a convenient side table for snacks and drinks. With new laser projection, a curved screen, and subtle ambient lighting, the movie experience is more immersive than ever. A special highlight: the historical wall paintings now stand out beautifully. The design draws inspiration from the Wiener Secession, an art movement known for its geometric shapes, refined details, and bold colour palette. Elements from the building’s past as a hotel are also incorporated into the new interior. The result? Auditoriums full of character, with a nod to the rich history of this national monument. All halls will be fully renovated by 2026.
