To end the rumour that there is no more life for the good, three gods descend to earth and find a glimmer of hope in Shen Té, the only one who offers them refuge. Her goodness is tested by profiteers of all kinds, so Shen Té invents a ruthless cousin, Shui Ta, to protect her ideals in a cruel world. 

Brecht's play, directed by Emmanuel Volant, is a mix of social reflection, humour and emotion. Funny, simple and moving, La Bonne Âme du Se-Tchouan explores human contradictions with a resonance that is as relevant today as ever, and with striking characters.
