Ellen ten Kroode en Ad Kroese - Aquarellen
ExhibitionIn this special exhibition, the watercolours of Ellen ten Kroode and Ad Kroese come together in a poetic dialogue of light and colour. Their work shares a refined technique in which washing, polishing and scratching lead to layered compositions full of atmosphere and depth.
Ad Kroese, known for his warm interiors in which the light dances, was an inspiration for Ellen ten Kroode, who turned entirely to watercolour after they met. His influence can still be felt in her current work. She also reworks her watercolours, creating a soft, shrouded atmosphere and depicting spaces that seem to have been abandoned long ago.
The exhibition, co-sponsored by Ad Kroese's family, shows a beautiful selection of works by both artists and offers a unique insight into their kinship.
