Nomads of Sehnsucht - MorphoGenesis
7 Jun - 2 Jul
Exhibition
With an exhibition on the theme “Morphogenesis”, photography collective Nomads of Sehnsucht enters the fascinating world of shape development. They are inspired by the magical process of morphogenesis, in which complex forms and structures emerge from a simple initial form. For the Nomads, the spark for a search for hidden metaphorical meanings.
For this exhibition, the Nomads are settling down in a special location: Pulchri Studio's beautiful Voorhout gallery on the Lange Voorhout in The Hague. As a collective, they embrace their nomadic nature by organising exhibitions in diverse, changing locations, so that the work is seen and appreciated in various contexts.
In their work, the Nomads of Sehnsucht explore the medium of photography. Driven by both a fascination with photography and a desire to develop a personal visual language, they create images that depict elusive desires - Sehnsucht. The work was created using a mix of digital and analogue techniques, ranging from high-tech solutions to craft processes in the darkroom. Thus, intriguing, associative work around the theme of “Morphogenesis” came to life.
Exhibiting Nomads of Sehnsuchtmembers: Annemarie van Buuren, Baukje Venema, Jacqueline Louter-Hoos, Nicole Hagesteijn en Olga Rook.
