A couple kissing, covered by a red veil, on a road. Inez & Vinoodh, Think love, 2025

From 21 March to 6 September 2026, the exhibition *Can love be a photograph – 40 years of Inez & Vinoodh* will be on display at the Kunstmuseum Den Haag.

In 2026, the internationally renowned photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin will have been working together for forty years. This special anniversary has prompted the Kunstmuseum Den Haag to invite the Dutch-born duo to present a major retrospective, in which they look back on forty years of artistic partnership.

They have produced editorials for Vogue, V Magazine, Visionaire, The New York Times Magazine and W Magazine.

Fashion photography duo

It is clear that the photography duo are constantly exploring new styles and techniques. In the early 1990s, they were among the first photographers to investigate the possibilities of digital imaging technology as a medium. They developed a distinctive style of visual seduction combined with provocative narratives.

Inez & Vinoodh operate in both the art and fashion worlds. Since the 1990s, they have created groundbreaking editorials for publications such as Vogue, V Magazine, Visionaire, The New York Times Magazine and W Magazine. Their innovative approach is also evident in campaigns and fashion films for brands such as Balenciaga, Balmain, Calvin Klein, Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Valentino and Yohji Yamamoto. In addition, Inez & Vinoodh have expanded their remit into the world of film and video. Among other things, they have directed groundbreaking music videos for artists such as Lady Gaga, Björk, Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney.
