Five people dancing outside in front of a modern house.

Five Sims avatars in a slick world with a dystopian twist.

Over Sorry, not sorry

In the year that the world did not end after all, the computer game The Sims 2000 was released. In it, you could create virtual people ("Sims"), build their houses and control their lives. In Sorry not Sorry, MANCO opens up this world and draws you into an energetic, absurdist dance performance. Ready to leave reality behind, but still be confronted with the facts?

In a slick gaming world, the five performers train all kinds of essential skills. But when the pool ladder disappears and an intensive mirror session fails to boost their charisma, their fun meter drops rapidly. After a dance party goes off the rails, it is time for more autonomy and a new skill: saying sorry. In a spiral of implausible and hilarious apologies, they discover that apologising is an art in itself. How different is this simulated world from our own lives?
