Borys Fedorov - Piano Recital
Borys' solo piano program traces a poetic arc across time and place, from Ukrainian musical identity to the inner worlds of German Romanticism and French Impressionism. The music program covers: Lysenko, Silvestrov, Schumann & Debussy.
Mykola Lysenko, often regarded as the father of Ukrainian classical music, draws on folk song and national character with clarity and warmth. Valentin Silvestrov’s music turns inward, offering fragile, reflective soundscapes that feel like distant memories of the past. Robert Schumann’s Papillons captures a kaleidoscope of fleeting moods and dances, inspired by imagination, masks, and youthful fantasy. The program concludes with selected Preludes by Claude Debussy, where color, atmosphere, and suggestion replace narrative, inviting the listener into a world of subtle shades and quiet resonance. Together, these works form a journey through memory, character, and poetic imagination.
