Fragments in Recall: Contemporary Moving Image from Taiwan
This film screening comprises three video works by Taiwanese artists Ciou Tzu-Yan, Lin Yi-Chi and Liao Chi-Yu. In their work, they explore post-war memory and the perception of time in Taiwan. The short films navigate between reality and imagination, and between personal experience and collective history, bringing together fragments of unfinished stories. The artists invite the viewer to reflect on how memories are formed, how they are evoked and how they are constantly reshaped.
Following the screening, curator Zoe Yeh will discuss the films and there will be an opportunity for questions from the audience.
This film screening is part of a collaboration between 1646 – Experimental Art Space in The Hague and Zoe Yeh, curator of the Hong-Gah Museum in Taipei, Taiwan. This collaboration is an initiative of and is supported by the Centre Culturel de Taïwan à Paris (CCTP).
