Three performers in a physical scene from the dance and mime show BRRRothers

Dance and mime show BRRRothers is performed in the Grote Zaal of De Regentes, programmed by festival De Betovering. Three performers play brothers locked in constant conflict, while their endless competition quietly exposes something much bigger.

They wrestle, bicker and fight for dominance, but they can't manage without each other either. The three brothers of BRRRothers are caught in a dynamic that is both recognisable and absurd: who's in charge, who gets the most attention, and who actually wins? The show turns that question into a gloriously chaotic spectacle, with physical performance and mime as its main languages.

Dance and mime about small and large conflicts

BRRRothers operates on two levels at once. In the foreground: three figures making each other's lives difficult on a playing field. In the background: a commentary on how large-scale conflicts work in much the same way as small ones. The makers tackle that theme with humour and exaggeration, keeping the show light without losing the undertone. Recognition, love, the need to be seen, it all hides behind the roughhousing.

Three performers who give everything

The strength of the show lies in its execution. The three performers play physically, sharply and with great timing. Over the top, certainly, but pitched exactly right. De Betovering brings BRRRothers to De Regentes in The Hague, for anyone who enjoys theatre that is funny, physical and just a little more than it first appears.
