Where small becomes big
Theatre PePijn is a trusted try-out spot for established cabaret artists and an inspiring stage for up-and-coming talents. With its retro look, cabaret library, record player and extensive vinyl collection, Theatre PePijn is a special meeting place. The theatre only has room for about 100 visitors, a small stage and an even smaller dressing room, but is big on experience. It is precisely in such a small setting that you can experience artists up close. Sometimes you even meet an artist at the bar after their show.
History
Housed in an old warehouse on Nieuwe Schoolstraat, the theatre has a rich history. It all started with Paul van Vliet, who formed his first professional ensemble with Liselore Gerritsen, Ferd Hugas, Judith Bos and pianist Rob van Kreeveld: Cabaret group PePijn. The initiative grew into a theatre that has become indispensable in the Dutch cabaret world. In 2001, Theater PePijn was taken over by Diligentia.
