From this summer, you can enjoy a unique view of the Binnenhof and the city centre of The Hague from a height of 28 metres! With the viewpoint, the Binnenhof will remain an important attraction for the city even during the renovation. The expected opening of the viewpoint is early July.
Design of the Viewpoint
The viewpoint will be 28 metres high and was designed by Arcadis. Around a steel core, stairs and landings wind like a ribbon to the top platform. The steel core has a grey colour.
In contrast, the stairs and landings have a yellow accent colour. This makes the viewpoint a real eye-catcher. A cable net is stretched around the stairs and landings for safety. The construction is designed so that the viewpoint can be rebuilt somewhere else after the Binnenhof renovation.
Free entry
The viewpoint will soon be open daily from 9am-17pm and free to visit. The entrance is fitted with a turnstile to prevent it from becoming too crowded. Unfortunately, the viewpoint has no lift; people with physical disabilities are welcome to visit the Information centre Binnenhof Renovation at Plaats 22.
