Willemsvaart
18 Jan - 31 Mar
Boat trips
The Willemsvaart lets you discover The Hague from the water! The Willemsvaart, named after King Willem I who had a waterway dug from the Prinsessegracht to the coast, has offered various boat tours in the city centre of The Hague and towards Scheveningen beach since 2009. An experienced guide will tell you historical facts and interesting anecdotes about the city during the cruise. Besides the standard tours, De Willemsvaart regularly organises themed tours, often in collaboration with museums, hotels and festivals in The Hague. In short: De Willemsvaart offers an alternative and relaxed mode of transport, where you get to know The Hague from a new side!

March 2026
On 1 and 3 March, Willemsvaart is organising commemorative cruises in memory of the bombing of Bezuidenhout in 1945. On 3 March 2026, it will be 81 years since Bezuidenhout in The Hague and the area around Korte and Lange Voorhout were hit by an Allied bombing raid. Nearly 1,000 people lost their lives, many of whom were never found.
To commemorate this, Willemsvaart is organising short boat trips from The Hague Central Station (Paxhaven) to Bezuidenhout. During the trip, the events of 1945 will be commemorated. There will be an opportunity to lay flowers at the Malieveld.
As on 4 May and 15 August, these commemorative cruises are free of charge. War should not be a source of profit.
