Skaters on the RollerSkateDisco floor at the Atrium during Museumnacht Den Haag

Every October, the Atrium Den Haag throws open its doors for Museumnacht Den Haag, an evening-long culture event during which more than 35 venues across The Hague open simultaneously. At the Atrium, the RollerSkateDisco takes centre stage for the thirteenth consecutive year, complemented by two special exhibitions from the Haags Gemeentearchief.

For one night only, the Atrium transforms into a rolling party venue. DJ Groove Selektor Brian Bfunk of Quadsk8 keeps the funky beats coming non-stop while visitors glide across the floor on skates. Feel free to bring your own, or rent a pair on the spot in sizes 36 to 47. No reservations are possible and availability is limited, so arrive early.

Haags Gemeentearchief exhibitions at the Atrium

Aside from the skating, the Atrium hosts two exhibitions that evening. 'Haagse zwembaden door de tijd heen' (Hague Swimming Pools Through the Ages) traces the city's bathing and swimming culture across the centuries. The second exhibition, 'Den Haag Filmstad – het verhaal van Meatball' (The Hague Film City – the Meatball story), reveals how The Hague once played a prominent role in early Dutch cinema. Both are compiled by the Haags Gemeentearchief and included with your Museumnacht ticket.
