Rabbit & Haas - Traces
Discover Traces by piano duo Rabbit & Haas on 1 November at HaagsPianoHuis in The Hague. Live piano music meets field recordings from across Europe.
In Traces, piano duo Rabbit & Haas takes the audience on a musical journey along Europe's borders. Live piano music is combined with recordings of sounds from different countries.
Piano music and sounds from Europe
Composer Wilbert Bulsink used field recordings from Scandinavia, the Baltic States, Belarus, Ukraine and Istanbul for his composition Flags & Bones. The piece is written for two pianists playing one piano and a sampler.
Sounds of cows, crickets, church bells and calls from minarets blend with different languages and live piano music.
Moving sounds
The programme also features Kon struct, a composition by Tamara Laverman. Piano sounds appear, move through space and are rearranged.
Together, the compositions create a musical landscape where sounds from the past and present come together.
