Royal traditions in focus
From 12 September, a showcase with objects and reproductions from the collection of the Royal Collections will be on display at Noordeinde 64, next to Noordeinde Palace in The Hague.
The Royal Collections have a new opportunity to share their collections and archives with a wider public: a showcase at Noordeinde 64, near Noordeinde Palace.
The showcase will highlight objects and reproductions from the Royal Collections' collections and traditions. The first tradition to be highlighted is Prinsjesdag. This tradition is over two hundred years old and is full of symbolism and customs.
Photos by Erwin Olaf from the Royal Collections have been given a prominent place in this showcase. The photos show employees of the Royal Stable Department in the attire they wear during the annual ceremonial march from Noordeinde Palace to the Royal Theatre. Behind the photos, the decor of Noordeinde Palace is visible. This wall depicts elements that play a role on the third Tuesday of September, think of the throne, the Glass Coach or the historic portfolio used by the Grand Master every year on Prinsjesdag.
