Discover the Royal Library (KB) in The Hague on a special English-language summer tour. Take a look behind the scenes at the national library and visit the exhibition ‘Flora Mundi: In Search of Lost Voices’.

KB The Hague Summer Tour

The tour begins with an introduction to the KB and its exceptional collection. You’ll visit the book storage areas, amongst other places, and discover fascinating stories and highlights from the collection. You’ll also gain a unique insight into the work of the national library.

Afterwards, Esther van Gelder, curator of early printed works, will take you to the exhibition ‘Flora Mundi: In Search of Lost Voices’. Here you’ll discover twenty historical botanical books about plants from outside Europe and the stories behind these remarkable works.

Syrian designer Donea Almir will also be present during the tour. Her artwork, inspired by Labillardière’s historic botanical work *Icones Plantarum Syriae Rariorum*, forms part of the exhibition. Donea will talk about her artwork, her inspiration and the connection between historical books and contemporary art.
