In October 2026, De Waterthor Swimming Pool celebrates its 50th anniversary!

The Municipality of The Hague saw this as the perfect opportunity not only to celebrate this milestone, but also to shine a spotlight on the city’s other swimming pools. Therefore, from October 1 to October 31 the municipality is organizing an exhibition in the Atrium City Hall entitled: The History of The Hague’s Swimming Pools Through the Years.

Step back in time and discover the rich history of swimming pools in The Hague. This unique exhibition showcases how swimming and aquatic culture in the city have evolved over the years, with special attention to the 50th anniversary of De Waterthor Swimming Pool.
