At Laaktheater, you experience art in a personal way. You discover art in various forms, so there’s always something to suit your taste. The theatre is a place in the neighbourhood where you can let your imagination run wild and be filled with wonder. You step into another world for a moment or see your own surroundings in a new light. The programme reflects what’s happening in the neighbourhood and in society.

Together with residents

Laaktheater works in partnership with residents and organisations in Laak. This is reflected in the programme and activities. Ideas and wishes from the neighbourhood form the starting point. Art and culture help you to discover new things and meet others. This fosters a greater sense of connection among people in the neighbourhood.

Working together on projects and activities helps to foster a sense of community in the neighbourhood. Cultural exchanges encourage participation, promote social cohesion and contribute to a pleasant living environment.

How does it work?
The activities are based on questions and ideas from local residents. Culture starts in the neighbourhood. That’s why you’ll find Laaktheater out and about, but you’re also welcome inside.

We collaborate with various networks both within and outside Laak. Creators are given the space they need, and there is a focus on talent development and education. You can see that activities are developed in collaboration with residents, with guidance provided where necessary.
