It's going to be a real Vermeer show. The largest exhibition of the 17th-century master will take place in the spring of 2023 in the Amsterdam Rijksmuseum. The Mauritshuis and the Rijksmuseum are collaborating on this exhibition. For this unique occasion, 'The Girl with a Pearl Earring' is temporarily moving to the capital. Vermeer's 'View of Delft' and 'Diana and her Nymphs' also travel with her.
2022: 200 years of the Mauritshuis
The 200th anniversary of the Mauritshuis will kick off in February 2022. The museum celebrates this anniversary throughout the year with special exhibitions and events. A sneak peek of the veil: the opening of the exhibition In Full Bloom will take place on 16 February, where the most beautiful flower still lifes from the period 1600-1725 can be seen. From that day on, the facade of the Mauritshuis will be decorated with an 'impossible bouquet' of flowers. The programming for the anniversary year can be found online on the Mauritshuis website.
2022 will be completely dominated by the 200th anniversary of the Mauritshuis.
