On Sunday 6 April 2025, Stoomgroep West Zuiderpark will once again open its doors to the public with its miniature steam trains. This year is extra special, because the association is celebrating its 50th anniversary. This unique attraction has been a permanent fixture in The Hague since 1975: an affordable and nostalgic outing for the whole family. Almost everything you see was built by the association's members in their spare time - from locomotives and wagons to switches, semaphores, signal boxes and the clubhouse.

Anyone entering the station will feel like they are in another world for a moment. The steam locomotive is ready, the carriages are filled with children and waving adults who dare to feel like children again. Puffing and whistling, the train leaves the station and travels through the greenery of the Zuiderpark. Along the way, barriers close, bells ring and lights flash – just like on a real train.

The International Steam Days will take place on 26, 27 and 28 April 2025. During these days, model builders from the Netherlands and abroad will come to the Zuiderpark in The Hague to show their impressive (steam) models. A unique opportunity to admire special technology up close and to get in touch with enthusiastic makers.
