The Hague Freedom Meals
On Liberation Day, our freedom is celebrated in The Hague with the Hague Freedom Meals. In the run-up to and on May 5, various events are taking place that are related to this. A photo exhibition in the Atrium The Hague, a mobile soup bus through various neighborhoods and dozens of meals throughout the city are part of this, among other things.
The cultural programme for the City Meal is being organised in collaboration with Amare's programme department. Together, they have put together a programme for all table guests, including a performance by the Residentie Orkest. The programme offers opportunities for meeting and conversation.
On 5 May, various activities will also take place throughout the theatre and on Spuiplein. This will involve residents of The Hague in the Liberation Day celebrations.
Together at the table
Tuesday, 5 May is the day when we eat soup together and celebrate our freedom. We do this with the Hague Freedom Meals. Because meeting new people broadens your horizons and eating together brings people together. Organise a meal yourself, or join us on 5 May for the City Meal at Amare or a meal in your neighbourhood.
Eighty meals throughout the city
The aim is to organise eighty meals throughout the city by 2026. That is why the initiators of The Hague Freedom Meals are calling on organisations to organise a meal too and encouraging residents of The Hague to join in a meal in their neighbourhood. The Hague Freedom Meals provide opportunities for people to meet and connect, and allow us to reflect on what freedom means to you.
