Magic Box door Martín La Roche (2024-2025). Installie aanzicht tijdens My Garden’s Boundaries Are the Horizon, de Appel, Amsterdam (c) Nikola Lamburov

What can arise from what is not said or not seen? With the exhibition “I wrote these letters, such that strangers did not know / And you, out of benevolence, read as only you know”, the artist collective To See the Inability to See invites visitors to look more slowly, read more attentively and reflect on what is happening between the lines.

From book to experience

The three artists Arefeh Riahi, Martín La Roche Contreras and Maartje Fliervoet have collaborated to create a unique experience in which images, objects, voices and gestures come together in an intimate dialogue. The exhibition explores themes such as femininity, queer spaces, intimacy and the power of the invisible.

The exhibition builds on the earlier project “My Garden's Boundaries Are the Horizon”, a joint book project by the collective in collaboration with designer Elisabeth Klement. This work invites collective reading, writing and thinking. In 2024, the project took the form of a performance and meeting place at De Appel in Amsterdam. Now, at Page Not Found in The Hague, it continues to grow. The publication literally unfolds in space, in dialogue with new materials, texts and visitors.
