Cevdet Erek: Ꜵccident Grotesque
28 Feb - 26 Jul
Exhibition
In this solo exhibition, internationally renowned artist Cevdet Erek transforms the West building, the former American embassy building in The Hague. Rhythm, movement and architecture are central to an experience that encompasses the entire building.
Erek developed a synthesiser especially for this location, connecting the 24 rooms into a single coherent sound work. Visitors experience the building as a spatial composition in which sound and movement reinforce each other.
Cevdet Erek's work has previously been shown at international exhibitions such as the Venice Biennale, dOCUMENTA and Manifesta.
